I am delighted to be back in touch with an update on Re:Devising, our immersive programme connecting students directly to a professional devising process.
First of all, thank you again for your interest. We have had a fantastic response, with around 80 schools across England expressing an interest in taking part, and we are really excited about the journey ahead.
Unfortunately, our initial funding application was unsuccessful, so we have had to rethink the programme slightly.
We have developed two different pathways, allowing schools to choose the level of engagement that works best for their students and budget.

At the heart of Re:Devising is our new production, The Moving Goal, which explores aspiration, pressure, self-esteem and resilience through the world of football. The piece is still in development, but we are delighted to give you a glimpse of what we are making - Please don't share the trailer publicly for now.

At the heart of Re:Devising is our new production, The Moving Goal, which explores aspiration, pressure, self-esteem and resilience through the world of football. Through Re:Devising, students will be able to follow the creation of The Moving Goal, gaining a unique insight into how a professional theatre company develops a piece of work from initial research and experimentation through to performance.
Timeline:
- World Premiere - Summer 2027
- All materials being sent to participating schools - End of September 2027
- UK tour of The Moving Goal - Spring 2028
Two ways for your school to take part:
DIGITAL PACKAGE - £300 per school
You will receive:
- Six video resources exploring different stages of Theatre Re's devising process, to inspire classroom practice
- A practical work pack with stimuli, exercises and resources that can be used directly in the classroom
- Access to discounted school group tickets and free staff places to see The Moving Goal during its Spring 2028 UK tour at a Theatre near you (tour dates TBC)
- A final extended video documenting the journey of The Moving Goal from initial idea through to finished production.
All resources will be provided together at the end of September 2027 (apart from the extended video), allowing teachers to use them in whatever order and at whatever pace best supports their students' own devising journey.
FULL PACKAGE - £600 per school
Everything included in the Digital Package, plus:
- A three-hour in-school workshop led by a Theatre Re practitioner, connecting our professional devising process directly to your students' own work
- A 30mins online Q&A with Theatre Re Artistic Director Guillaume Pigé
In person workshops are designed for groups of up to 25 students at a time. If you would like to involve a larger group, please let us know and we can explore the options with you. Additional or follow-up workshops can also be arranged at an additional cost.
What happens next?
It would be incredibly helpful to know whether you are still interested in participating.
If you could reply to this email, please let us know:
- whether you are interested in the £300 Digital Package or the £600 Full Package
- the year groups and approximate number of students you hope to involve
- if choosing the Full Package, a rough idea of when you would ideally like your in-school workshop to take place. There is no need to have exact dates at this stage - an indication of the term, month or preferred days of the week would be absolutely fine.
